02 How to host an HTML file in 3 steps
Add your file
From yapp.page, drag your .html into the drop area or paste your code. Need images or CSS too? Drop the whole folder or a ZIP that contains index.html. Not sure the file renders right? Paste it into the free HTML viewer first.
Get your link
Click Publish and yapp.page returns a live URL like yourname.yapp.page right away.
Share it
Send the link anywhere, it just works, with a clean link preview and a QR code generated for you.
Trying to host the file inside SharePoint or Google Drive? Both store HTML but will not serve it as a page. Here is why, and the fix: SharePoint, Google Drive.
03 Only need the file online temporarily?
Sometimes the point is that the page should not stay up, like a client preview or a one-off demo. yapp.page is built for exactly that:
- Anonymous uploads expire on their own. Publish without an account and the link quietly disappears after a short while, so there is nothing to clean up later.
- Signed-in pages give you a dial. Set 7, 30 or 90 days, extend later, or keep a page forever on a paid plan.
- An expired link goes dark for real. Once the page expires, the URL stops resolving and we do not keep serving a stale copy.
04 Frequently asked questions
How do I host an HTML file online for free?
Drag the .html file into the drop area on the homepage. About two seconds later the file is a live page at its own yapp.page URL. It costs nothing, and you only sign in if you want the page to stick around.
Can I host an HTML file without a server or coding?
Yes. yapp.page hosts the static file for you, so there's no server to set up and nothing to configure.
Can I host an HTML file with images, CSS and JavaScript?
Yes. Drop index.html with its assets, a whole folder, or a ZIP containing index.html, relative paths keep working.
Can ChatGPT or Claude host an HTML file for me?
Yes. Connect yapp.page once and your AI assistant publishes the file and returns a live link in the same chat. Learn how →
How long does the hosted page stay online?
You choose. Anonymous pages expire quickly on purpose (see the section above), a free account holds a page for 30 days with the option to extend, and paid plans go up to never-expire.
